Businessity is provided by Ultimatum Pty Ltd ("Ultimatum", "we", "us" or "our"). This policy explains how Businessity handles information when you use the app on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Information You Choose to Store
Businessity stores your business directory, products, notes, transcripts, photos, calendar links, research references and settings on your device. If you connect a folder in iCloud Drive, Businessity saves a synchronised copy in that folder so devices with access to the same folder can use the workspace. Ultimatum does not receive the contents of that local or iCloud Drive workspace.
Businessity Accounts and Shared Businesses
Account-enabled versions require you to sign in and create or join a business. Older versions may support local use without an account. Our service provider Supabase processes your name, email address, account identifier, authentication information, business setup answers, workspace membership, roles, invitations, chat messages, shared plugin settings and entries, and any product, profile or memo summary that you choose to share. These shared records are separate from the local or selected iCloud Drive library. We use this information to provide business access, collaboration, the tools you enable, notifications, security and support. Access to a shared business is governed by its membership and roles; authorised members and administrators can see the records their role permits.
Passwords are handled by the authentication service and are not visible to Ultimatum. Businessity does not sell personal information, use third-party advertising or track you across apps and websites.
Subscriptions and Merchant Payments
Apple processes Businessity subscription payments. Our billing service verifies purchase identifiers, product, business account token, purchase status and expiry with Apple and stores the subscription history needed to provide access, restoration, refunds and renewal handling. We do not receive your Apple account password or full payment-card details. A new-business trial does not automatically take payment; choosing an App Store subscription starts the paid plan under the terms shown by Apple. Deleting a Businessity account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel it through your Apple account.
The optional Square integration is separate: it processes a business's payments for its goods or services, not Businessity digital subscriptions. Square handles card and supported wallet entry on its checkout. Businessity stores the business, invoice, order, payment status and provider identifiers needed to reconcile records and confirmations. Connected services process their information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Optional Staff Scheduling and Attendance
When a business enables scheduling and attendance, Supabase stores staff and venue references, schedules, clock-in and clock-out times, breaks, corrections and related audit records. Clock actions can include the app version, device platform, time and time zone. If you choose to attach location and grant permission, the clock action also includes coordinates, accuracy and capture time. This is a one-time capture for the action, not continuous background location tracking; clocking without location is supported. Authorised business managers can review and export attendance records. Businesses are responsible for informing their staff and selecting appropriate workplace policies and retention periods before using this feature.
Device Permissions
Businessity asks for access only when a feature needs it:
- Camera and Photos: to scan business cards and products, choose profile images, and index or save research references. Automatic R&D indexing stores compact metadata and does not copy every original photo. Photos you manually attach may be stored in your selected iCloud Drive workspace.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition: to record voice memos and live conversations and create transcripts. Apple speech services may process audio on-device or through Apple according to your device settings and Apple's policies.
- Contacts: to let you choose people for collaboration invitations or conversation context.
- Calendar: to show business events and create or update events you request in the system Calendar app.
- Location: to start destination maps near your current location, add location context to research items and optionally attach a one-time location to an attendance clock action.
- Local Network: to find nearby Macs running Businessity and compare installed app versions.
- Notifications: to show reminders, collaboration messages, calendar alerts and optional activity summaries.
- Bluetooth and nearby devices: to connect compatible devices or controls that you select. Device capabilities depend on the equipment and its provider; universal control of all devices is not promised.
You can change these permissions at any time in system Settings.
Optional Integrations
The dedicated Mac edition can connect supported digital services such as monday.com and provider analytics. When you enable a connection, Businessity sends the requests and information needed for actions you initiate and stores supported credentials in the device Keychain. These user-supplied digital-service key connections are not available in the updated iPhone and iPad edition; importing supported report files does not require those keys.
Web Studio stores website drafts, business content, domain settings and imported aggregate reports in the storage shown by that tool. Publishing, live email and other provider operations require compatible configured services; creating a draft does not automatically publish a site or create an email account. Public business-information and domain lookups request the websites or DNS services needed for the action. The public pages you visit and connected services process requests under their own privacy policies.
Retention and Deletion
Local and iCloud Drive workspace information remains until you delete it in Businessity or remove the files from your selected iCloud Drive folder. Online business, collaboration, enabled-plugin and attendance information remains while the business uses the service, until an authorised user removes it, or as needed to provide the service and comply with applicable obligations. Records shared with other business members may remain in that business after you leave it. Subscription records may need to be retained for purchase restoration, accounting and legal obligations.
You can permanently delete your Businessity account and cloud collaboration data from Settings > Businessity Account > Delete Businessity account. Files stored locally or in your selected iCloud Drive folder are not removed by account deletion and remain under your control. Limited service-provider backups may remain temporarily before being overwritten under the provider's retention practices.
Security
Businessity uses encrypted HTTPS connections for online account and integration traffic, stores supported secrets in the device Keychain, and uses Apple platform protections for local and iCloud Drive files. No system can guarantee absolute security, so keep your devices, accounts and shared folders protected.
Children's Privacy
Businessity is a business productivity app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Businessity changes. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page.
